Buying cardamom by the container is a different discipline from buying retail packs. At wholesale volumes, small inconsistencies multiply: a lot that runs half a millimetre under the declared size band, or a few extra points of moisture, changes your downstream economics. A bulk supplier should therefore offer four things as standard, and Emperor Spices does:

Packaging determines how well cardamom travels and how efficiently it moves through your warehouse. We offer four standard formats and will recommend one based on your transit time, climate and end use.

Long sea routes to Europe or North America often justify vacuum-sealed inner packs inside cartons, while Gulf buyers moving stock quickly frequently prefer jute or PP woven bags. Mixed-format orders — for example, bulk jute plus a portion in branded pouches — are accepted within the 500kg MOQ.

Beyond whole pods, we run three programmes that bulk buyers regularly combine with their core orders.

Private label. From 250kg, we pack cardamom in vacuum pouches from 100g to 1kg under your brand. You supply the artwork; we handle filling, sealing and carton packing, so your retail line ships from origin ready for the shelf.

Decorticated seeds. Bakeries and flavour houses that grind in-house often prefer seeds, which remove husk-handling from their process. Seeds are supplied against the same COA discipline as whole pods.

Cardamom powder. For food processors blending at scale, freshly ground powder saves a milling step. Because ground spice loses aroma faster than whole capsules, we grind against confirmed orders rather than holding powder in stock, and we recommend vacuum packing for any powder shipment.

All three can be quoted alongside whole-pod lots in a single consolidated offer.

Every wholesale relationship at Emperor Spices starts with a sample. We dispatch 100g to 500g of the actual grade on offer together with a Certificate of Analysis, so your team can check capsule size, colour, aroma and oil content against the contract specification before any money moves on the main order.

Behind that sample sits a documented system: FSSAI-licensed operations, ISO 22000:2018 food safety management, HACCP controls at every critical point, and registrations with APEDA and the Spices Board of India. Grading is done by machine sorting with manual verification, so an AGEB contract delivers capsules of 8mm and above — not a blend padded with smaller material.

Can I order a mixed container of different cardamom grades?

Yes. Many distributors combine AGEB for premium retail with AGS for grinding in one consignment, sometimes adding seeds or powder. Each grade is packed and labelled separately with its own COA parameters, and the combined order simply needs to meet our 500kg bulk minimum.

How do you keep cardamom fresh during long sea shipments?

Aroma loss is driven by air, light, moisture and heat. For long routes we recommend vacuum pouches packed in export cartons, which protect the essential oil content in transit. For faster routes, jute or PP woven bags are economical and ventilate well in storage.

Do you supply cardamom powder and seeds in bulk as well?

Yes. Decorticated seeds suit bakeries and flavour houses that grind in-house, while powder is ground against confirmed orders to protect freshness. Both ship with a Certificate of Analysis and can be combined with whole-pod grades within a single wholesale consignment.
